Packaging is simply great. At least for our 4-year-old daughter
Svenja. In no time at all, a cardboard box turns into a house,
a car, a dog or a vacuum cleaner. When she’s scribbled on it
with crayons and felt-tip pens, bathed it in water-colours or
stuck coloured paper on it,
for her a simple cardboard box can
simply be anything and everything.

One day I came up with the idea of making a children’s theatre
out of a cardboard box and drawing the individual motifs like
the curtain or Punch with lines. My first piece furniture to colour
was born. Svenja was so delighted that I thought up other
objects, like a kitchen unit and a shop.

My furniture to colour proved a hit with her small friends too and
parents asking where they could buy these things bombarded me.
That was the beginning of my company, Klein, aber oho!,
which means “Small but wow!”.
